      <image:caption>This project focused on developing a cohesive branding package for a fictitious restaurant, including a logo, color palette, typography, and collateral. My goal was to create an illustrative yet balanced logo that maintained clarity without being overly decorative. Careful consideration was given to color choices to ensure a refined and harmonious palette. Through class critiques, I selected Concept 32 for further refinement and ultimately chose Fabiola Capitols Thin as the typeface. Recognizing that the original brand name was too long for effective design, I revised it to enhance usability. I also explored alternative compositions for the illustration and adapted the design for versatility across various applications. To further establish the brand identity, I developed two patterns and alternative collateral forms, ensuring visual consistency across different media. The final stage involved fine-tuning design elements and applying them to collateral that reflected the restaurant’s unique blend. The project culminated in a comprehensive spread showcasing the primary and alternate logos, color palette, and collateral applications.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>We explored several ways to feature GramE in a way that felt friendly yet down to earth, trying both illustration styles and photo treatments. In the end, the client chose a halftone photo treatment that has a classic look with a contrast that “brings out her smiling features”. We framed GramE in a lavender circle to tie the image together with the company name as a complete logo, as well as make her “pop”. Lavender is also featured in the brand patterns and wordmark to continue the motif and lend a soft feel to the overall design. For the company name and flavor names we chose a set of typefaces that balance each other, conveying both a sense of the traditional with a modern design.  We carefully designed the look of the bag to match the logo feel which gives a full and positive experience when seen on the store shelves.</image:caption>

Since this museum has a long name, my goal was to find a solution for creating a balanced logo that is engaging yet uncluttered and designed around a primary color scheme. I mainly focused on sketching multiple styles of logo marks to come up with my final design. The many iterations forced me to think more creatively, and I learned how to better approach the brand identity with unconventional thinking.</image:caption>

Through my various iterations of sketches and research into Sapporo, Japan, I decided to fashion my mark after the landmark at the top of Mt. Moiwa.  After trial and error, I chose to bring this logo to life by utilizing interacting gradients in a winter color scheme. To counteract the boldness of the mark, I used a thin typeface (Gravesend Sans) with tracking to balance the logo visually.</image:caption>

There were moments of uncertainty as I navigated different design and content directions, requiring extensive collaboration, experimentation, and thoughtful decision-making. Each spread was designed to highlight the teams the Lancers played against and their scores. I incorporated news articles covering each game and included as many game photos as possible. Additionally, I featured game statistics for every player, with an ‘End of Season’ section summarizing overall player performance.</image:caption>

I enjoyed getting to add another layer of interactivity through color to call attention to the reaction of the oil and water mixed. As I have a minor in Wood Furniture Design, I created a book about Mid-Century Modern chairs in an Art-Deco-inspired design style. From start to finish, this publication utilizes geometric and ornate details to make the featured chairs and designers pop and draw the readers in. It was a great experience for me to highlight the history and context that went into the M.C.M. design style with the added twist of doing so in homage to a completely contrasting period.       <image:caption>Designing this product followed the creation of The Art of Sitting publication- the goal was to again take the same time period of the 1920’s and design packaging for a product that would have been of much use then. I decided to create a small compact rouge box and utilize the Art Deco design style. I wanted the main feature of this product to be the interactivity of the design, as the rings connect on all sides of the lid. This leads the eye of the consumer around the product, highlighting aesthetics while maintaining functionality. I went with a geometrically circular typeface to compliment the rings and add cohesiveness to the design.</image:caption>
